Director of Service

Exeter, NH
Full Time
Senior Manager/Supervisor
Director of Service
Exeter, New Hampshire  |  Full-time, exempt  |  Reports to the COO
THE ROLE
NETC Fleet Services is seeking a Director of Service to lead our Service department end to end. This is a senior operating role with full ownership of the department: its financial performance, its shop network, its people, and its customers. You will be accountable for everything the department accomplishes and everything it fails to accomplish, and you will have the authority and support to run it accordingly.

We are a growing heavy-truck and fleet maintenance business, and a significant part of this role is bringing newly acquired operations onto common systems and standards without losing momentum in the shops.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
  • Full P&L responsibility for the Service department, including revenue growth, gross margin, cost control, and EBITDA performance against plan.
  • Operational leadership of the shop network — throughput, cycle time, quality, warranty, and technician productivity and utilization.
  • Building, staffing, developing, and holding accountable the department’s leadership team and workforce, including hiring and performance management decisions.
  • Customer satisfaction and retention across fleet maintenance and heavy-truck repair accounts, and growth of service revenue from both existing and new customers.
  • Safety, compliance, and adherence to Company policy, standards, and systems.
  • Integration of service operations at acquired businesses onto NETC’s common systems, processes, and standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Progressive leadership experience in heavy-duty truck service, fleet maintenance, dealership service operations, or a comparable multi-technician environment.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership, with a track record of improving margin and hitting plan — not just managing to a budget someone else built.
  • Experience leading leaders across more than one location, including hiring, developing, and making difficult personnel decisions.
  • Command of the operating metrics that drive a shop: labor hours sold, effective labor rate, comeback rate, warranty recovery, and technician utilization.
  • Credibility with fleet customers and the judgment to grow accounts while protecting service quality.
  • Comfort operating in a company that is actively acquiring and integrating businesses, where process and systems are still being standardized.
  • Willingness to travel to Company locations as required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Competitive salary and bonus incentive program.
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with Company match; life and disability insurance, subject to plan terms.
  • Paid time off: 14 days per year plus Company-recognized holidays.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with NETC is at will. Any offer is contingent on satisfactory completion of a background check and reference checks, documentation establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States, execution of the Company’s standard confidentiality, invention assignment, and restrictive covenant agreement, and resolution of any existing non-competition obligation prior to the start date.
